Yes can make money and you don’t even need to get verified or any other nonsense that the other social media sites like twitter require.
Normally on social media sites when your followers “like” your posts. You get paid nothing.
Can you imagine if you got paid for likes?
When you like something on Nostr. It’s called a “Zap”.
So on Nostr when someone likes your posts. You get “zaps” which are actual money.
When someone “Zaps” your content. You will receive a “Satoshi” A Satoshi is a fraction of a Bitcoin.
So it means you can get paid every time you make a post but that’s only if a user “Zaps” your content.
On Nostr the user has the power and not the administrator of the website like twitter.
THAT IS AMAZING.
Not only that. Zaps are real time money. It means you don’t have to wait for Nostr to release or approve your money.
In fact. Nostr is not a company and has no CEO so therefore you don’t have to worry about anyone holding your “Zaps”(money). The money goes straight into your Bitcoin wallet in real-time.
THIS IS REVOLUTIONARY. All thanks to Bitcoin.
The like button will be replaced with the zap button.. eventually.
We no longer need Twitter, Facebook, Truth Social, Gab, Instagram or any other centralized company.
I believe the zap button will eventually be ported to other place like video streaming companies.
It should be up to the user to “like/zap” content and not the company to decide how much money someone should get for their content. GOOD-BYE YouTube.
So how much money is a zap?
Bitcoin fluctuates up and down so since a zap is real-time money. It also fluctuates.
1 Bitcoin = 100,000,000 Satoshis/Zaps
You can do the math or just use a website. I use Kraken.

At today’s current rate. 1 Satoshi/Zap is 0.00064 cents in USD
So it means if you post something that your Nostr followers like and it gets lots of zaps. You will earn:
1 zap = 0.00064 cents USD
1,000 zaps = 0.64 cents in USD
10,000 zaps = $6.04 dollars in USD
You see. At first it doesn’t seem like a lot of money but the more zaps you get, the more money you make.
Look at the post below. People are already using the “zap” button much more then the “like” button because they know the money goes to the user.
Nostr is fairly new so it doesn’t have that many users but it is quickly gaining popularity.
So what do you need to get paid? You need a Bitcoin wallet that supports the lightning network.
Nostr does not have a built in Bitcoin wallet. Which i believe is good. So it’s up to you. You can pick your wallet and not have to worry about Nostr. The only thing Nostr needs is your wallet address.
I recently added my Bitcoin lightning wallet address to Nostr and I already got paid 5 zaps.
I was confused at first. I didn’t know what a zap was. I had to research it. I’ve been using Nostr for 5 months and had no idea about zaps!
Oh ya did i mention that you can control how much zaps you can send every time you like zap someones content?

When i first signed up to Nostr. I noticed that every time i clicked on zap. It wanted to send 500 satoshis. 500 satoshis for liking someone’s content i thought is too much. That’s 0.32 cents per zap.
That adds up too fast. You can actually change that by holding down the zap button and it give you the power to decide how much each zap is worth.
I chose to give 1 zap to the user when i zap his content.
You can add more. For example. In the picture below you could type in “2” in the “new amount in sats” and it would give you the choice to send either 1 zap or 2 zaps on the post you liked.
I set 1 zap for every post. Maybe in the future i will add a second option for posts i really love.
You can actually “like” someones content without sending them a zap.
There is currently 2 different buttons. A “like” button & a “zap” button.
Why? I believe since Nostr and Bitcoin lightning is new. Interest users are still trying to figure things out. So they added a “like” button for people who don’t have Bitcoin/zaps.
As I said earlier. I believe the like button will be phased out. Which means in order to like someone’s content you must have zaps in your wallet.
This will solve a lot of fake likes that we see on social media sites.
I’m sure the MSM & Deep State, corrupt politician profiles hire bot companies to like their fake new stories and push their propaganda.
With zaps. It means it will cost them way too much money to hire bot companies.
Because of Bitcoin. We are seeing more and more companies adapt to Bitcoin. Bitcoin will truly change the world and it will also definitely make war unaffordable because a lot of the wars in the world are financed by the bankers and the only reason they can afford to make so many wars is because they have the ability to print money.
Money is their weapon.
Bitcoin is the people’s weapon.
They can’t print Bitcoin.. and that’s why they hate Bitcoin so much.
Bitcoin will take their power of corruption away.
