I requested that BTCPay Server implement a “pay-to-unlock contact form” feature.
I believe this idea could eventually replace CAPTCHA, as bots continue to find ways around it—wasting time for both users and website owners.
A pay-to-unlock model for contact forms could become the new standard on professional websites, especially as access to Lightning wallets becomes more widespread. Spammers would be forced to pay if they want to submit anything, effectively discouraging abuse.
BTCPay Server’s implementation of this could eliminate 99% of spam and render traditional CAPTCHAs obsolete.
