I\u2019ve added around 32 relays so far. What I\u2019ve learned through this process is that there doesn\u2019t seem to be a up-to-date list available online, making it difficult to locate active relays. The lists I have found often include relays that no longer work. It seems many people start their own relays out of curiosity or for experimentation, only to lose interest and abandon them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, I understand why only about 10 of the relays are considered the most reliable and popular\u2014they\u2019re the ones that consistently stay active and are widely used by the community and I also learned why it’s easy to spam the nostr network because the spammer only needs to target those 10 relays and those 10 are free relays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In spite of that there isn’t really that much spam on the network. Most relay administrators on the major free relays seem to be removing the spam, there is a new type of free relay WOT which has drastically reduced spam and of course there is the paid relays which has no spam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
