They&#8217;ve experimented with subscriber-only content, Patreon, Buy Me a Coffee, VPNs and countless other monetization strategies. But most of them don\u2019t work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why? Because the average person has no interest in paying $5 to $20 per month per channel. That\u2019s an absurd subscription model. YouTube&#8217;s system favors big creators financed by corporations and leaves everyone else searching for scraps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A better model would be something like Nostr\u2019s &#8220;zap&#8221; tipping system\u2014where viewers can send small Bitcoin tips directly to creators they enjoy. This keeps content free, removes the paywall friction, and lets creators actually get rewarded for individual pieces of content, not just popularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Will it make you a millionaire? Probably not. Making a living off YouTube is unrealistic\u2014even on a Bitcoin standard.
