However, I quickly realized there\u2019s no straightforward way to moderate spam since there\u2019s no GUI. All moderation tasks have to be handled via the terminal using SQL commands.\n\nI suspect this is why many relay administrators set up a relay, leave it running, and don\u2019t actively moderate it. This explains the abundance of spam on free public relays.\n\nI\u2019ve decided not to keep my relay open to the public for free because:\n\n1. I don\u2019t believe in free services.\n2.
