Oil changes every 5000 kms, biggest money scam ever!

I have been using synthetic oil in my car and doing oil changes every 10,000kms to 20,000kms or once a year for years and my car hasn't blown up.

Everyone always says that you should change your oil at every 5k because that's what's the mechanics tell us.

What else is a scam?🤔
