In Canada buying a house is more scammy than the US because every 5 years you renew your mortgage and your payment changes based on the current interest rates.

I know in the US you're locked in for 25 years with the same rate.

Both systems are a scam system meant to keep you in debt and house poor forever while betting that you never pay off your home.
