From watching these crime investigation videos, I've learned that:

The typical homicide is:

an argument that escalates

domestic violence or conflict between people who already know each other

The “random killer targeting strangers” is:

much rarer than movies/news make it seem.

I find the police officers are extremely brave going into a domestic situation where emotions are high and guns are easily available.
