I was wrong about Canadians. They do have guns. Canadians are only allowed a 5 round magazine and military style rifles are banned. They must go through a process to get a gun license.

The military on the other hand has no restrictions. Their military is about 69,000 soldiers but as we saw in Ukraine. In an event of a war the gun restrictions can be removed and you have a full military of 21 million citizens.
