I see a lot of streamers on X complaining about how fake Twitch is. They move to Kick, only to realize it’s also full of bots and fake views. Then they try Rumble and discover the same problem there.

Streaming platforms and the internet in general is flooded with artificial engagement. If bots were magically removed, the audience would be dramatically smaller than most people think.

Many streamers work incredibly hard, hoping to make a living from their content. But for most, that dream is unrealistic. The ecosystem is saturated, inflated by bots, and distorted by creators who fake their numbers to appear more successful than they are.

Nostr is smaller and growing more organically but even as it grows, it’s unlikely to become a reliable way for most people to earn a living through streaming.

Stream as a hobby but don't expect a stable income.
