As of March 2026, the U.S. Army has officially raised its maximum enlistment age to 42 years old from the previous limit of 35.

If you have a wife and kids which most do by that age, you should probably not join. In my opinion the military is a single man's job considering your gone for half the year or longer, what's the point of having a wife and kids if you're for that long.
