Buy a beer anywhere in the Dominican Republic

My friend went to the Dominican Republic and told me he can buy beer a taco bell and other fast food places.

Never heard of this in Canada. Is it because Canada is too cold and has no beaches. I wonder if Florida and tropical places down in the USA has this. Would be cool.
