A vulnerability in cyberpanel took down 20k + sites and hundreds of thousands still vulnerable. The worst part is the hackers encrypted the data on the exploited servers requiring owners to pay thousands of dollars to decrypt their data.
On cyberpanel forums many of their customers are saying they decided to pay thousands of dollars to the hackers because their only backups were on the hacked sever and had no offline backups.
Ouch..
I read online that cyberpanel is a bad company. Many are going back to cpanel or directAdmin. Cpanel is much more expensive and always seem to raise their prices. It cost 61usd a month for cpanel while directAdmin is 29usd a month.
I’ve tried both panels and other free panels. I don’t use any panels anymore because the pricing always seems to go up every year. Managing a sever is definitely harder without a panel but I’ve gotten used to it that now I prefer servers without a panel.
Somedays we all want to just quit the computer life.. It’s one of those days for many out there.
