I’ve finally ditched Spotify from my car in favor of WavLake. I never actually had a Spotify membership and only used the free version, as I don’t want to support a platform that has censored podcasters in the past. I’ve been waiting for an alternative, and now one’s here:
WavLake—a Bitcoin-native platform with no ads. That alone makes it worth the switch. Spotify, on the other hand, is cluttered with government-backed ads, including ones still pushing vaccines.
One feature I’d love to see on WavLake is the ability to automatically deduct a chosen amount of sats after streaming more than 50% of a song. Ideally, these sats could be split between the artist and the WavLake platform itself. This would help support both the musicians and the site’s development, ensuring it continues to grow. I often listen to music while driving, and manually zapping songs isn’t safe or practical we all need to stay focused on the road.
Overall, WavLake is a fantastic platform. I’ve also heard good things about Fountain and plan to check that out soon too.
