X22report made it’s first exclusive video on rumble

The X22 Report podcast, which has 791K followers, just released its first video exclusively for premium subscribers on Rumble.

But honestly, Rumble’s pricing is steep—$9.99USD per month just to remove ads and access a few premium videos? Doesn’t seem worth it to me. I already use an ad blocker, and Rumble doesn’t exactly treat its users well. Their requirements to join the content creator program are excessive, and small creators can’t even make the requirements and if they do they will barely make any money—if at all.

Personally, I’ve made more on Nostr than I ever did on YouTube or Rumble combined—and I don’t even make videos or run a podcast. Nostr doesn’t require permission to monetize. It’s all Bitcoin-based: tipping, zaps, and direct payments. It’s simple, permissionless, and actually works.

I’d love to support X22 Report—I’ve been a longtime listener—but I can’t justify paying for a Rumble subscription. And even if I did, most of the money would go to Rumble, not the creator. Hopefully, he’ll find his way to Nostr someday.

Also, it’s worth noting: his premium video shows 148K views, but based on my research, Rumble counts a “view” the moment someone clicks the thumbnail—even if they don’t have a subscription and can’t actually watch the video. That is deceptive.

Sometimes I wonder if I should start my own podcast. I’m not sure what I’d talk about yet, but one thing’s clear—we need more podcasters publishing directly on Nostr.

What should I call my podcast?
