US Founding fathers wanted separation of religion and government

The phrase “one nation under God” was added to the Pledge in 1954 — not by the Founding Fathers, but during the Cold War to oppose “godless communism.

Jefferson and Madison would’ve flipped. They fought to build a strict wall between church and state — not blur the lines.

Even “In God We Trust” didn’t show up on money until the 1950s.

The Founders built a secular republic — and we need to keep it that way.

Religion belongs in homes & communities, not in government.
